The Greatest Couch Co-op Game You've Likely Not Played Is Coming to Nintendo Switch

The Wizard of Legend Sequel, a procedurally-generated adventure featuring wizards aiming to become renowned heroes, will arrive to Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks. It will be playable Nov. 25, providing fans of local multiplayer titles a second chance to explore one of the year's most impressive additions in its class.

A Challenging Beginning

The Wizard of Legend Sequel adopted the roadmap of many under-the-radar games. The development team released it in beta testing in October 2024 on Windows PC, ahead of releasing it fully, together with PS5 and Xbox Series X editions, in mid-2025. When it debuted, it was widely panned. Merely less than a third of its audience ratings were positive. The Steam reviews are "mixed", according to close to 2,000 evaluations, with numerous gamers critiquing the overall roughness and multitude of glitches upon release. Console players further lambasted that the cooperative mode, a key feature for the game, was largely non-functional.

Ongoing Enhancements

But like several beta releases that debut in rough states, Wizard of Legend II has been shaping up. In recent months, the creators have deployed multiple updates intended to fix these issues. Having played Wizard of Legend 2 to a greater extent than every other recent title in the current year, I can confidently say it performs better than it was initially (on Xbox Series X, if nothing else). It has achieved the level where nine times out of ten, I can actually get a cooperative run to function. Not bad!

Once It Works, This Game Works

Furthermore when Wizard of Legend II operates, it truly delivers. With a top-down angle, you fight through magic-oriented dungeons by launching incantations in action-oriented mechanics. Lots of rushing, plenty of avoiding, plenty of handling spell delays. This game is incredibly rapid and remarkably inventive; through blending your abilities alongside a partner's, you can devise powerful synergies.

Switch Release Specifics

While the Nintendo Switch edition hasn't been comprehensively reviewed, it's important to remember the notoriously rigorous approval process for Switch games. Its creators confirmed publicly that the Switch version of Wizard of Legend II incorporates all updates that were implemented in the current year.
