Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The debut of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, many players are expressing frustration over several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.

Players have started turning to custom matches made via Battlefield Portal to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how demanding these missions have become.

Comprehending BF6 Objectives

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but while the majority simply offer cosmetics and some tools, completing the weapon assignments is the exclusive means of obtaining twelve from the forty-one primary weapons present in the game.

Some of these gated guns might eventually earn a place on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and entirely ill-conceived, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is highly imprecise and only works at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you aim to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Extremely Difficult Mission

A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with marksman guns

This is tough enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and possibly an additional option at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Bypass

There is a workaround though: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

But when doing the challenges in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for finishing these in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Future Adjustments

It is expected if a number of these missions are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.

For now, the community continues to express their views on these demanding multiplayer missions, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
